Position Title : software engineer
Location : Dulles, VA
Duration : 3months

Responsibilities:
Work as part of the technical team that designs, develops, implements and maintains Media Technology Team systems
Work closely with UI/Design and other development teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of dashboards and interactive web applications
Converts specifications and requirements into functional web pages and works with the back-end developers to create database-driven templates for functional web pages.
Well versed in behavior related to the use of different DOCTYPE declarations, character encoding, W3C standards compliance and accessibility issues
Understand and adhere to industry and best practices for delivering fast loading web sites
Is an active participant in an Agile/SCRUM environment
Break down projects into tasks with time estimation
Proactively identify and communicate issues
Work in a team environment with other developers, designers, product managers, business analysts
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 2 - 4 years related experience in web site development
2-4 years experience in front end web development using templating systems (JSP, JSTL, Servlets a plus), HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, Javascript/jQuery, and PHP
An understanding of how design affects web sites and comprehensive knowledge of developing interactive web pages (CSS and HTML markup)
Knowledge of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility
Experience with performance and optimization standards, performance tuning following industry techniques (e.g. use of Sprites and JQuery libraries)
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across browsers (e.g. JavaScript, jQuery, CSS and HTML).
Demonstrated understanding of backend services and environments for developing web pages (UNIX, Apache, Tomcat, and FTP and server architecture).
Experience developing in a standards-based environment using version control software (SVN or CVS and IDEs such as Eclipse or NetBeans)
Experience with the following a plus: CSS 3.0, HTML 5, Agile, Adobe Photoshop, Flash
Required / Desired Skills :
Bachelors degree or 2-4 years equivalent experience Required 2 Years
Strong analytical and communication skills Required 0
HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, Javascript/jQuery, and PHP Required 2 Years
Experience with the following a plus: CSS 3.0, HTML 5, Agile, Adobe Photosh Highly desired 1 Years
