Our systems perform live stream data management, decision support and real-time data distribution throughout the investment bank

Tasks / Responsibilities:

Application Design:
? Designs application components to meet the requirements of a business and documentation of the design.
? Provides Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (i.e., databases, middleware and user interfaces).
? Contributes to problem and root cause analysis.

Application Development:
? Manages maintenance of applications and performs technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes.
? Fixes software defects/bugs.

Required
? Hands on knowledge of developing systems with Erlang/OTP is a huge plus. Candidates with hands-on skills with other functional & logic programming languages will be considered (Haskell, Lisp, Scala, Clojure, Lua, etc).
? Significant experience in designing distributed system running on multiple hosts 24/7.
? Ability to reason about advanced data structures and algorithms when applied to a particular problem.
? Hands on experience in designing multi-threaded systems.
? Keeps pace with technical innovation.
Preferred
? Solid experience with web development technologies (both browser-centric and server-centric). Candidate must be able to describe one or more Ajax-based or plugin-based UI frameworks and demonstrate hands on experience in the area.
? Knowledge of the following technologies preferred: mongoDB, Redis, Tokio Cabinet, Cassandra, couchDB, Giga spaces, Coherence

Education | Certification (Recommended):
? Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science. Having other degrees on top of BS in computer science is relevant however does not override the need for knowledge of relevant material of BS in computer science.
