JAVA Architect - Groovy on Grails
at Abhishek, Quantronix, Inc in Ontario, CA
Duration – 6 weeks.
Location – Ontario, CA
They are converting 12 client server applications to web based applications the first to be converted is the financial systems. The underlying architecture is Java and Groovy on Grails could be known as just Grails.
They need someone to come in and create a design document for the first phase so they need a Java Architect with a strong background in development using Groovy on Grails as the backbone.
Because they are using Grails they will be using test driven development methodology on the project. As you know, Groovy on Grails is a rapid prototyping development tool. They will also be using JQuery’s UI (User Interface).
The resource will have to be able to talk with the key stakeholders, help them define their business rules and then translate that into the design statement. They will be using all the standard JAVA toolsets.
We need someone who has been there done that before, who will guide the client through this conversion process. They have to be the expert.
Responsibilities:
1. Documenting technical architecture planning, including hardware, software and application partitioning design.
2. This will include naming conventions, testing standards/guidelines to support a test driven effort, build procedures (for rapid prototyping), version control.
3. Identify and develop the application specific component library (including reusable/shared components across the converted applications).
4. Ability to mentor the programming staff and do some “ad hoc” training.
