Flash Media Server Architect

CN-tec is a leading provider of strategic staffing and Information Technology consulting firm for premier organizations. We are currently hiring for the following opportunity:
Research & Development organization is currently seeking a mid-to-senior level Flash Media Server Architect/Developer. Along with other members of the CDN development team, the person in this role will be responsible for updating and maintaining the overall architecture and design of the FMS Live and On Demand infrastructure. In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities:
Design for scalability; update or develop plug-ins, create data models and UML diagrams as-needed.
Plan development iterations and schedules.
Adhere to assigned project schedules. Coordinate activities with PM and other project developers.
Manage development and test environment: installation, configuration, backup/recover & performance tuning.
Support internal and customer integration testing.
Optimize performance at server or application levels.
Coordinate with Operations team for capacity planning, monitoring and diagnostics of production application.
Participate in and contribute to internal training and review sessions.
Skills / Requirements
Qualifications for this position include:
5+ years - software development experience
5+ years - experience developing in C/C++
Experience developing in Java a plus
Experience designing and/or deploying a production FMS solution
Experience architecting a production FMS infrastructure a big plus
Experience developing custom plug-ins for FMS
Experience delivering products and components for a Windows environment
Experience delivering products and components for a Unix/Linux environment a plus
Experience building systems using a structured methodology; experience in iterative development preferred
Experience/knowledge with RDBMS - preferably MySQL
Experience with technologies such as load distribution, fault tolerance, firewalls, proxy servers, etc.
Knowledge of FMS 3.0
Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, DNS, including FMS-specific protocols
Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 research and production environment.
