PHP Developer

Reporting to the Manager of Software Development, the Senior PHP Developer will join a cross-functional, collaborative, fast-paced team. The ideal candidate brings considerable knowledge and prior experience developing scalable web services and backend frameworks. The Senior PHP Developer must be able to contribute to all layers of the product development process include architectural design, database schema creation, and application design. The role is expected to contribute technical leadership to the development team, including best practices for process and design.
Primary Responsibilities
•Design and develop web robust scalable web services to be leveraged by social media game applications
•Responsible for all facets of the development life cycle, including documentation.
•Unit test all components
•Support QA in testing functionality, performance, and failure modes
•Update requirements, bug, and problem databases
•Support Operations in instrumentation of applications and components
•Work effectively with co-workers, and third party developers by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner
•Educate peers and staff with regard to the application as well as new technologies that may help drive the product forward or promote efficiencies
•Other duties as assigned
Requirements
•Minimum: BS Computer Science or equivalent work experience
•5+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced web development environment
•Proficient in Object-Oriented PHP
•Experience with MySQL in a distributed, heavy load environment
•Ability to lead the design, development and implementation of highly scalable and reliable web application products
•Demonstrated ability to write concise, manageable and easy to read code
•Familiarity with all of the following: Linux, Apache, SVN, Memcache
•Experience and/or willingness to mentor other developers in a positive manner
•Must be able to interface with Product Managers and convert written and/or verbal requirements into design and technical specifications
