PHP Programming Engineers

i-SAFE is an internet safety education organization. (www.isafe.org). Our mission is to educate and empower students, parents, seniors, and community members to safely and responsibly take control of their Internet experiences. i-SAFE provides knowledge that will enable students to recognize and avoid dangerous, destructive, or unlawful online behavior, and to respond appropriately. This is accomplished through dynamic K through 12 curriculum and community-outreach programs for students, parents, law enforcement, and community leaders. i-SAFE is now seeking a full time qualified PHP Developer.
Primary Responsibilities
i-SAFE is looking for a well-rounded programmer. This may include a PHP Developer, PHP Web Developer, or LAMP Developer with PHP, MySQL, XHTML, Jquery, CSS, and Javascript experience.
What you need for this position:
• Strong PHP 5.3 development experience
• Strong Javascript experience (JQuery a plus).
• Exceptional MySQL database architecture skills
• Experience working with front end technologies like HTML, XHTML, CSS and Javascript
• Experience with Subversion or other source control systems
• Thorough knowledge of object oriented programming practice
• Develop web-community using open source platforms
• Troubleshoot client issues
• Ability to Multi-task
• Ability to positively react to stress and pressure
• Ability to coordinate internal resources to get things done
• Feels accountable and has ownership of issues
• Feels empowered to make decisions
• Ability to propose solutions the resolve or prevent issues that are unique in nature and are outside of the box
• Ability to work in a team environment and be an effective team player
• Issue resolution and problem solving capabilities
• Be able to analyze and propose solutions to a problem as well as completing all tasks required in its resolution
What you'll be doing:
• The job entails designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting web-based solutions.
• Applicants should be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Collaborating with a small team of developers
• Developing web applications for new projects
• Participating in full life cycle development including quality assurance
Additional experience is encouraged!
While knowledge of Drupal and CakePHP is a plus, we use a ton of different languages/frameworks/applications and the ideal candidate will have experience in (or be eager to get experience in) one or more different programming languages and frameworks. And candidates who tell us about new frameworks are welcome too.
The right person will always be ready and eager to learn new languages and technologies!
Education and Experience
• College Degree preferred
• The ideal candidate: friendly, well-spoken, organized, works well under pressure.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
