Software Developer UI - Dynamic Web
at Direct Technology in Seattle, WA
Do you have experience with JavaScript as an Object Oriented language, instead of just a scripting language? Are you a software engineer who has advanced UI skills and is interested in web development? Do you have 3+ years experience designing and developing web applications using Javascript and AJAX on multiple browsers?

We're working on a new product release that will help recruiting teams discover and manage quality candidates from sites across the web, including social networks, professional networks, job boards. We want a developer who is interested in joining a team and helping to build the product from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
- Help define and build an interactive and innovative frontend customer experience
- Take on project ownership and shipping responsibility as a part of a project team
- Participation in technology and product research to introduce new methods and ideas into the product and engineering environment
- Wow the team with your ability to balance UI design elegance and code simplicity
- Demonstrate detail-oriented ability to translate design visuals into HTML/CSS
Qualifications:
- 5+yrs of HTML/CSS
- 2+yrs JavaScript/AJAX
- 2+yrs experience developing web applications in OBJECT ORIENTED -- JAVASCRIPT (using JavaScript for advanced UI, not using JavaScript as a scripting language)
- Experience with JSON based web services
- Experience with open source and AJAX/JavaScript frameworks e.g. script.aculo.us, prototype, jQuery, MooTools, YUI, ExtJS
- In-Depth knowledge of cross-browser/OS design issues
- Understands concepts of reuse and knows how to build components
- Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
- Server-side/back-end development a plus
- Ruby on Rails experience highly desired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
Must be comfortable with an open source-like development environment with a variety of tools and languages including Ruby/Rails,Java/J2EE, MySQL. Title and salary dependent on experience. FT is preferred, contract work will be considered. Seattle area applicants preferred.
