Front End Developer
at COMODO in Jersey City,NJ
Purpose of Position:
The Front End Developer/Webmaster is a position on the Marketing team, and its primary role will be to support the development and management of the Comodo Group’s websites. The main responsibilities are outlined below; this list should be viewed as a starting point, as the position will evolve and grow according to the successful candidate’s interests and aptitude and the Comodo Group’s workflow.
Accountabilities:
Fluent in HTML5 and CSS3 (as well as fluency with previous versions
Of web standards)
Provide Search Engine Optimization (SEO) guidance to Comodo’s websites.
Make content updates to Comodo’s websites
Implement new website functionality to enhance user interfaces and user interactivities for the Comdo’s websites.
Troubleshoot website operation; track site usage statistics and monitor performance
Develop and maintain new online resources
Must be comfortable in a highly collaborative environment
Test and debug website issues
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suit (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks) for web image preparation
Maintain sites through open source software such as Drupal
Prior experience and specialized or technical knowledge (a must):
3-5 years building front-end interfaces for large, complex websites
Experience with object-oriented Javascript with a strong emphasis in jQuery
Deep knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing
Working knowledge of web-centric scripting languages such as PHP
Exerience with versioning system such as SVN
Experience coding with progressive enhancement techniques for maintaining cross-browser compatibility (multiple versions of Safari, Firefox, Chrome and IE)
Specialized or technical knowledge preferred:
Experience in PHP/JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Jquery front-end development
Knowledge of Content Management System
Human Relations Skills (Oral and Written):
(Oral) Effective in relating in an appropriate and positive manner with peers and supervisors.
(Written) Able to communicate requirements with onsite and remote teams.
