Having outsourced all development work for the past 5 years, this agency is now seeking to hire in-house expertise to take a technical lead on all development projects. Working alongside a Senior Designer you will provide the essential PHP Development input that helps this team continue to produce cutting edge websites and applications.
This is a hands-on development role where you will be involved with: Creating HTML/CSS; Building Facebook Apps; Customising Wordpress themes, Developing Wordpress Widgets; Slicing Photoshop files and creating mail browser compatible HTML emails. • Excellent XHTML / CSS skills.
• Expert knowledge in PHP5.
• An understanding or a desire to develop systems using Wordpress 3.0 as a CMS.
• Experience working with MySQL and ideally writing SQL statements.
• Experience of the full software development lifecycle: from requirements gathering and functional specification through to build, testing and go live.
• Good levels of communication. Written, verbal and client facing.
• Enthusiasm and an active interest in all things technology.
• Strong organisation and self-motivation with a natural ability to thrive in an autonomous environment.
Any exposure to AJAX, Wordpress or knowledge of SSH command line would be desirable but not essential.
Armed with initiative and strong problem-solving skills, you should possess the ability to code flawlessly in a small agency environment. But it’s not just about the coding, you will play a major hand in ideas development and must be able to show that you are as equally at home chatting through the finer points of web builds with clients as you are accurately scoping projects.
