SQL DBA Developer

FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION

Responsibilities:
Must hold experience in the following areas-
Installs, configures SQL databases, installs required patches and upgrades.
Performs version migrations to SQL2005 and SQL2008.
Performs monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of the database.
Performs capacity planning including future storage requirements.
Develop, implement, and administer data security and integrity policies and procedures
Develop, implement, and administer high availability database synchronization procedures, including clustering and virtualization.
Perform planned and unplanned server failovers
Preference for experience in the following-
Develop methodology for test databases on development system and support necessary software
Consult with members of the Application Development group on file design and optimization issues as necessary
Adheres to internal change management, configuration management, security management, and PMO processes
Analyzes and troubleshoots SAN, network, memory, and CPU specific performance issues in a high volume SQL Server Environment.
Develop, implement, and administer data retention policies and procedures
Develop, implement, and administer table purge and reorganization policies and procedures
Develop, implement, and administer data archiving policies and procedures
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
Microsoft Certified DBA.
Microsoft Windows Server Certification a plus.
Minimum 2-4 years SQL2000 / SQL2005 / SQL2008
Installation, configuration, customization, Security, maintenance and performance tuning.
Patching and version migrations to SQL2005 and SQL2008
Minimum 2-4 years SQL2005 / SQL2005 /SQL2008
Analyzing and troubleshooting SAN, network, memory, and CPU specific performance issues in a high volume SQL Server Environment.
Minimum 2-4 Years SQL Server Clustering in a large environment.
Minimum 5 years Windows Server OS
Exposure to with data warehousing and business intelligence tools using Microsoft products including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
Experience with DTS packages.
Proven Skills in writing T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
HP Polyserve SQL Instance Virtualization experience a plus.
Microsoft technical skills, knowledge of scripts and clustering software
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through team efforts, willingness to challenge
Established practices and draws relevant conclusions, ability to persuade market and sell new ideas and the ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
Ability to exercise good judgment, problem solving ability and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures
Ability to work independently, set priorities, handle multiple tasks with concentration, speed and accuracy to meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply to business needs
