As a Development Manager you will act as the bridge between the business and the development team. It will be your input that leads all technical projects from conception to completion whilst ensuring that all technical business processes fall into place along the way.
Working on complex technical projects that span mobile apps to complete website re-builds you will head up the development team motivating and inspiring the people around you to create great work. You should expect a multi-faceted role which involves hands-on development as well as managerial tasks such as leading the in-house development team, co-ordinating near-shored projects, write technical specifications and participate in technical requirements gathering.
To qualify... You should be an accomplished .NET Developer / Web Developer (.NET/C# /ASP.NET) who has had prior exposure to a leading a team. In more detail your CV / core skills should cover the following:
• C#
• ASP.NET MVC 2.0 or above
• ORM: Entities Framework (EF) or LinQ To SQL
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / T-SQL
• Source control
• IOC
• Web services
• Design patterns
• HTML / CSS / JavaScript
You should also possess strong communication and motivational skills, strong team leadership abilities and the natural ability to thrive within a fast-paced, adaptable working environment. Leading by example you should not be afraid to take a hands-on approach, working on development projects.
Exposure to Agile development methodologies is advantageous, as is .Net 4.0, ASP.NET MVC 3, JQuery, HTML5 / CSS3 and iPhone or iPad development (XCode and Objective-C).
