Senior Software Engineer
Looking for talented, motivated and energetic people with a passion for Web innovation to join the team. This is an exciting and fast-paced startup environment, where you can make a real difference.
Responsibilities
• Effectively design, develop, and deploy applications based on open-source technologies such as Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl and PHP.
• Collaborate with teammates in an open, supportive environment.
• Think out of the box and solve challenging problems as part of creating a novel Web 2.0 application platform.
Essential Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar field
• 5+ years industry experience developing customer-facing systems
• Extensive experience in the LAMP solution stack, specifically
o Object-oriented PHP5 is a must
o Development and deployment experience on Unix (Linux or otherwise)
o Experience working with databases, MySQL preferred –schema design, comfortable with SQL.
• Experience with Zend Framework, or similar: Symfony, Cake, etc
• Object-oriented programming experience in the industry, preferably Java or C++
• Good web application design practices: Templating, Design Patterns, MVC, Database Abstraction Layer
• Familiar with front-end web technologies: JS, CSS, AJAX, etc
• Experienced with Web Service–based architectures, using REST, XML-RPC etc
• Adhere to good development practices: documentation, code standards, code readability, code/design reviews, optimization, maintainability
Desired Qualifications
• Participated in teams using Agile development processes (Scrum, XP, etc)
Experienced with Unit Testing, Test Driven Development
