full time Web Game Engineer – Fast Growing Virtual World and 3D Game – VC Backed

ROBLOX is an online virtual world and building game built on a 3D physics engine – everything moves. Some have described it as “Second Life meets building blocks”. Others as a 3D gaming version of YouTube: some users create and publish games, while others find and play them, like videos on YouTube but with the ROBLOX game client.

We are looking for a senior web application engineer to lead the development of significant portions of our website and backend infrastructure. Experience matters, but capability matters more. We are looking for engineers who are smart, efficient, and tenacious problem solvers – engineers who demand to love their job and who always deliver their absolute best.

If this is you, and you have some or all of the qualifications below, we want to meet you. We’re a .NET shop, but if you’re seasoned in LAMP, Ruby, Java, or equivalent technology stack and are open to learning .NET (MySpace is built on it), read on.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS or MS in CS or equivalent education or experience
  • A proven history of achievement – creative, intellectual, academic, and/or professional
  • 3+ years experience with web application stack (.NET / LAMP / Java / Ruby)
  • Experience with HTML/DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
  • Experience with MSSQL/MySQL, Web Services, IIS, or equivalent
  • Experience in a production environment supporting a live site
  • Passion for games, toys, and/or consumer products
  • Demo examples of your past work a plus
