As a Web Developer / LAMP Developer / PHP Developer or similar this role involves supporting existing projects (for ongoing clients) as well as developing and launching new projects ranging from brochure-ware websites through to complex CMS-driven intranet portals and everything in between.
Joining an expanding digital department within an ambitious branding agency you will work alongside the Digital PM involved with complete digital builds (technical specifications, wireframes and storyboard designs), providing the essential digital/technical voice that shapes and grows the digital team and its internal practices.
You will need lots of commercial experience of working with PHP and ideally in the complete LAMP environment, you should understand the web development life cycle (including wire-framing, prototyping, coding and testing), server configuration and management (Linux and Apache), Database administration (MySQL and SQL Server), Server-Side development (PHP) and Client-Side development (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and Ajax).
To qualify... You will need to be an ideas driven, Web Developer / PHP Developer / LAMP Developer or similar who can code flawlessly and demonstrate key skills in some or all of the following:
• PHP
• LAMP
• Object Orientated Design, Service-Oriented Architecture, coding and design patterns
• Concrete5 OpenSource CMS experience
• eCommerce gateways (PayPal and World Pay)
• (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including Ajax functionality and libraries such as jQuery
• Cross-browser development experience including W3C compliance
• Linux and Apache administration (virtual hosts, SSL, DNS)
• Testing procedures (especially use of bandwidth/processor load and QAT)
• Ability to deliver projects which achieve the highest level of quality
• Ability to continue or modify a project from existing code
• Strong emphasis on usability and applying best practices
• Understanding of optimised and scalable scripting/database techniques
• API Integration experience (such as Amazon S3, Encoding.com, Google Maps etc)
• SVN/Git (including basic admin and merges)
• JIRA or similar experience
