full time PHP Internals Developer

Digg is looking for a developer with experience in PHP internals and with PHP, MySQL and large scale website development experience. You’ll be working on a variety of projects – adding new cool functionality to digg.com and scaling the site to meet our ever increasing traffic. Learn from some of the brightest minds in the PHP, design and operations communities:

* Play with Memcache, Gearman, Mogile, PEAR, etc. in a high volume environment * Create and contribute to open source projects while you work on high traffic and scalability problems at Digg

QUALIFICATIONS

* C/C++ experience * PECL extension programming experience * PEAR programming experience * memcache internals experience a plus * Ideally 3+ years experience with PHP/MySQL/Apache * Experience with Subversion, JavaScript, CSS and OO programming are a plus * Knowledge of Memcache, SOA, JSON are a plus * Knowledge of microformats and open standards are nice to have * Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
