Web Developer (ASP and PHP)
at Celerity in Richmond, VA
We have an immediate need for a web developer, the ideal candidate possesses outstanding web development skills, strong web architecture and technology expertise, excellent knowledge of web design and development principles, and hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast paced environment. In addition, the individual demonstrates outstanding client-facing skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and the capability to perform under aggressive deadlines and heavy client demands. Successful candidates must be dependable, reliable, willing to take initiative, fast learners, and team players. They should exhibit a passion and understanding of web design, development, and technologies, and a flexible, innovative, "can-do" attitude.
Location: Richmond, VA, with some travel requirements to McLean, VA
Hours: Normal business hours, Monday - Friday
Required Skills:
5 - 7+ years of web development experience
Proven experience delivering creative solutions for a large corporation's web site
Ability to oversee the work of other developers
Experience in an iterative or Agile development environment
Strong attention to detail and the ability to comprehend and follow required content and design standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to field requests from business customers and partner with customers to understand design and content requirements
Advanced web design and user interface (UI) skills, (e.g. html, flash, Photoshop. Illustrator, etc.)
Ability to understand and interpret client's style guide
Competence in search engine optimization (SEO)
Ability to efficiently and accurately implement tagging standards
Basic level experience in technology testing (functional, automation, and performance)
Experience with QTP or other testing tools
Webserver configuration and DNS knowledge
Proficient in object oriented languages and concepts
Proficiency with the following technologies:
" PHP 4.0 (PHP 5.0 is preferred)
" HTML
" CSS
" JavaScript
" XML
" Flash
" Photoshop
" Web Design
" IT Design
Preferred Skills:
Prior creative design and copywriting experience for web sites
Basic use of Rational ClearCase or other ticketing application
Prior experience in a financial services company
Prior experience using CMS tools
