Web Developer
Are you an Engineer with solid skills in J2EE front-end and back-end development? Can you build back-end data services and integrate them into front-end JSP pages for our AddictingGames and Shockwave sites?
What you get to do every day:
• Develop new technology for high availability, high demand consumer facing websites that are changing the face of entertainment
• Translate technical requirements into specifications by working closely with Project Managers as you create new features and functionality for our products
• Own and be accountable for multiple development projects in dynamic iterative release cycles
• Define updates, issues and communicate same to key stakeholders in the process
• Manage Quality assurance using standard coding guidelines and version control to track changes
What you bring to the role in your professional toolkit:
• BS in computer science or equivalent professional experience doing hands-on development with object-oriented methodologies
• 3+ years of work in a production environment with consumer facing web development
• Solid understanding of Java 1.5 features to include Collections, Generics, MVC Frameworks - Spring or Struts
• Previous work with browser-based technology to include JavaScript and front-end J2EE technologies - JSP, JSTL and Taglibs
• Working knowledge of scripting languages - Python or Perl
• Experience with source control tools – Subversion
• Comfort with work in a Linux development environment
• Use of Hibernate, SQL, and with relational database architecture
• A creative approach to problem solving in a dynamic team-oriented environment with limited supervision
• Able to meet deliverables and drive your work to completion within specified timelines
• Great communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to present ideas and solutions to many audiences including senior management
• Can work cross functionally in many areas without being constrained by your job function
• Collaborative, upbeat work ethic where you can take ownership and have fun
