Job Description:
Morsekode seeks a web developer intern to be a jack-of-all-trades as we develop web projects for our clients. This person would work on a team with web designers and client strategists to implement various kinds of websites ranging from big to small. Flexibility is needed as some projects may require custom coding solutions and others may require working with content management systems. As the sole developer, we'll lean on you for recommendations and strategies on how to effectively create the websites our clients need. Most likely lead into FT position. Duration: June 1 - Aug 31.
Abilities:
Can work with designers and client strategists to implement their vision of a project
Recommends the best strategies and resources for various web projects
Thinks through problems thoroughly and can foresee project requirements
Works well in a team and communicates effectively to get the job done
Picks up a rudimentary understanding of new technologies and languages quickly
Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solution
Skills:
Demonstrates expert knowledge of PHP and MySQL
Demonstrates expert knowledge of Javascript (and possibly jQuery)
Creates standards-based websites using HTML and CSS
Demonstrates some familiarity with XML and XSL
Possesses knowledge of web servers and hosting
Effectively works with the boundaries of content management systems
Has a familiarity with the mac operating system
Flash/Actionscript coding would be a plus
