We are seeking a junior-level developer to develop front end programming in support of our many campaign projects that span health care, cause and issues based, technology and business. We produce web sites, online marketing elements, blogs, wikis, communities and more. In addition to the qualities already mentioned the position will demand a self starter that collaborates effectively with other developers, designers, creative directors, account team partners and clients.

Required Responsibilities and Skills:

  • BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to update, edit, and cut up graphics from Photoshop designs
  • Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
  • Experience developing and implementing open source software projects
  • Experience developing for cross-browser/platform compatibility
  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

This position offers the opportunity to continually expand existing skills and develop new ones. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who also have any experience or demonstrated ability to acquire skills in the following areas:

  • Experience with PHP (preferred), ASP, or JSP
  • Experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL (preferred), MSSQL, and/or a good working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience developing to meet Section 508 accessibility standards
  • Experience with WordPress and/or Drupal
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery and Prototype, and/or experience with JSON
  • Flash ActionScript programming
  • ASP.NET application development
  • Digital video encoding
  • Any CMS development or support
