Exciting opportunity to join a small, talented, and productive system development team within an organization celebrating 25 years of excellence. We are looking for a candidate to make significant contributions to the development of our customized software application and to our service delivery to our valued clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing additions and extensions to a Graphical User Interface front-end for a proprietary insurance administration system. Members of this team are involved with a broad scope of the SDLC and are visible internally and externally.

Essential Skills

•Proficiency with Java, specifically with JDBC, servlets and XML parsing and XSLT.
•Proficiency in web technologies especially AJAX, Hibernate, JavaScript, JSP, HTML and CSS.
•Proficiency in web development frameworks such as GWT, JSF or Struts.
•Proficiency in Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming.
•Proficiency with SQL/PL/Sql for creating, retrieving, updating and deleting data in a relational database.
•Proficiency in reading, understanding, and working with large existing code bases.
•Proficiency in debugging.
Beneficial Skills

• Familiar with Design Patterns and UML notation.
• Familiar with profiling tools for execution analysis.
• Familiar with algorithm analysis and design.
• Familiar with Oracle 10g, Microsoft SQL Server a plus.
• Familiar with Eclipse, JBuilder, or equivalent Java IDE.
• Experience with scripting ANT, Unix/Linux shell, Windows batch files a plus.
• Familiar with algorithm analysis and design.
• Experience with source code control tools.
• Experience working in a software development life cycle environment.
