We need a hands-on Web Application Developer with Support skills to join a rapidly expanding, friendly software company based just north of Birmingham. Specialising in the development of highly functional and market leading software our client is seeking to recruit a Support Developer to work within a client facing environment.

This position offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to be involved across all stages of the software implementation lifecycle. Expect first hand involvement in the development implementation and support of a business critical application delivered in a Software as a Service environment. In more detail your role will include the following:

• Provide ongoing development and enhancement to the software as per client requirements
• Provide customer support throughout the implementation process and thereafter
• Translate customer requirements into internal specification documents
• Managing external and internal project meetings including the monitoring and control of workflow
• Go the extra mile to ensure clients receive excellent customer service and a smooth software implementation

This is a hands-on role and will require a high level of understanding in IT including demonstrable experience in the following: UNIX (Linux); Web Programming (JavaScript and PHP); Databases (SQL); Report Writing (Crystal Reports, iReport or something similar).

Any prior exposure to C/C++, Oracle or the Logistics industry would be a distinct advantage.
This role is suited to a technical Software Implementation Consultant, Support Developer or a client facing Software Developer. Either way you must demonstrate a good technical background and have knowledge of implementing complex software whilst providing excellent customer service.

  • Please note this role will require onsite visits so it is essential you are flexible and posses your own vehicle. Support Developers also work in a rotating support desk environment (usually 1 day per week.) and the 24hr support rota (generally 1 week in every 7).
