HomeAway is seeking a talented Front-End Developer to join our growing UI Design/Dev group. This person is responsible for working with the experience designers to code the interface portions of the products. Performs coding, unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits with high quality deliverables. Comfortable integrating with multiple backend environments such as .net, ColdFusion and Java.

This role requires creativity as well as excellent technical, interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, alongside other design, marketing, product and engineering team members.

Primary Responsibilities

*Support domestic and international requirements *Understand and leverage industry best practices *Research user requirements through discussions with key stakeholders *Maintain a good understanding of target audience and industry UI trends *Produce prototypes to communicate user interaction and design ideas *Apply user interaction principles, helping the end users meet their goals *Work with Software Development Team to ensure correct implementation of UI Front-End

Ideal Candidate Profile

*Five+ years experience in user interface development *Strong JavaScript Development background and use of JavaScript Libraries (jQuery preferred) *Must possess strong user experience background and a full understanding of UX design, page hierarchy *An understanding of modern web standards and the design implications of CSS-based layout are also required *Proficiency with design and prototyping tools for rapid, iterative prototyping *Commercial web site experience – preferably in ecommerce, online travel, and/or online real estate *Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, rapidly growing environment *Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS for Layouts, NOT using Tables *Strong understanding of Cross Browser Rendering Issues *Knowledge of version control systems. (Subversion) *Use of Web Development Best Practices *Knowledge or experience with any of the following are a PLUS; Java, ASP.net, MVC, jQuery *Need to provide Code Samples and Online Portfolio *Experience with international rollouts preferred *Degree in CS or related field strongly preferred.
