JAVA DEVELOPER / WEB PROGRAMMER – SOCIAL MEDIA - BRIGHTON (REF: RH-000CQD, Closing Date: 24/08/2010, Salary: £28-40k (DOE) + Benefits)
We are looking for experienced Java Developers to join an established (2004), pioneering internet business who have developed one the world’s leading tools for monitoring and capturing social media in real time.
Successfully servicing customers from all across the globe covering FTSE 100 companies to SMEs, our client helps them discover, understand and respond to the comments made about them by users across all forms of social media. Based in the Lanes, Brighton, this exciting technology company has backing from Business Angels and Venture Capital and hires the brightest PhDs in their field to work on their unique web crawler (which was initially built for the UK government.)
Continuing their expansion they are now seeking to hire Java Developers to enhance and extend the web-based user interface of their Social Media Monitoring product. Working in partnership with internal UI developers you will play an active role from initial design to implementation and release.
Your experience should cover:
• A good IT-related degree.
• Competency or expertise in Java development (at least 2 years of commercial experience).
• Familiarity with MVC development (e.g. Spring)
• Ability to turn requirements into a clear design and then a working implementation.
The following skills would be advantageous:
• Competency in JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery.
• Readiness to implement MVC code in JavaScript.
• Knowledge of DOM, XHTML, CSS and Web programming in general.
• Understanding of web crawling, data mining, multi-threading.
