SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR / OPERATIONS MANAGER (WINDOWS) - LONDON

SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR / OPERATIONS MANAGER (WINDOWS) - LONDON (REF: PR-000CVA, Closing Date: 07/09/2010, Salary: £35-40k)
We are looking for a Systems Administrator / Operations Manager to build and maintain the infrastructure of an exciting new social gaming venture backed by one of the UK’s leading digital/media groups who feature high on the NMA top 100 list.
Developing new social games, this exciting new start-up has already established themselves as key players by creating a unique platform touted as a game-changer within the social gaming market. A recent period of rapid growth has resulted in a vacancy for a Systems Administrator / Operations Manager to be responsible for building, installing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading servers within a Microsoft Windows environment.
Daily activities will also include:
• Performing system and security monitoring
• Planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Performing regular backup operations and recoveries
• Recommending changes to improve systems and network performance
• Create change and delete user accounts
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures when necessary
• Buy software licenses and rollout to client desktop
• Apply OS patches and upgrades
• Developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans
The successful candidate will be degree educated and have commercial experience installing, upgrading and troubleshooting Windows and Web Servers and have supported users using ticketing systems. Candidates will also need to have experience with Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008, Vista and Windows 7. Additionally candidates will need to have exposure to IIS, SharePoint and .Net Framework.
