Sr. J2EE Developer - 1 yr + contract

We are looking for a J2EE Developer for our direct client based on Washington, DC. Below, you will find a more detailed job description. Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, plus a minimum of 7 years of related professional experience. Professional certification and post-graduate degree are desired
• Advanced knowledge of Java and J2EE –Minimum of 5 years
• Advanced experience with Java Web Application framework
• Minimum of 3 years of strong practical experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate
• User Interface Design experience is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years experience with Ajax technology and Javascript/Ajax
• Strong practical experience with relational database management system –working experience with Oracle is preferred
• Working experience with Web services and service oriented architecture principles is a must
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience with design patterns, continuous integration, automated unit test and test driven development
• Work experience on large scale projects is a must
• Solid experience with WebSphere or equivalent application servers
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated proficiency at following Iterative development life cycles and associated standards and procedures
• Demonstrated experience in Object-Oriented Design
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the manager, architects and Lead software engineer performs analysis, design, development and unit testing of complex software applications; and resolution of defects.
• Works with project lead engineer to develop project estimates, tasks and schedules
• Provides project status updates to project lead
• Helps with development of system documentation according to established standards.
• Participates in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews. Interfaces regularly with other I.T. teams and sections, business/requirements analysts to determine new system requirements and to solve complex problems
• Provides technical mentoring to developers
